CASPeR
(Center for Alternate Strategies of Parasite Removal)

Our lab is currently testing a safe, effective, non-chemical treatment for head lice, Pediculus humanus.

Due to the growing resistance of head lice to the pesticides used in current treatments, the development of a non-chemical treatment is increasingly necessary. To learn more about problems with chemical treatments please visit the NPA website. Our non-chemical treatment is described in a recent article published in the journal Pediatrics (see publication reference).

We have secured funding from the Utah Centers of Excellence program and approval from the University of Utah Institutional Review Board to perform our treatment on children six and older, and adults in the Salt Lake Valley.
