What is an Adaptive Pique? It's a short presentation by someone in the lab concerning an unusually impressive, bizarre, or disgusting natural phenomenon with the power to remind us why we got into biology in the first place. It usually involves an adaptive conundrum that leads one to ask "How did THAT evolve!?".
A successful Adaptive Pique concludes with the lab chanting in unison: "Can you believe we get paid to study this stuff?"
