My name is Juan Altuna. I am currently a sophomore at the University of Utah. I was born in Venezuela, but I grew up in Murray, Utah. My specific career goals are currently undecided, but I know I want to pursue a career in the field of biology. I joined the lab in October 2013 and have been working with graduate student Scott Villa. While working with Scott on the Dimensions of Biodiversity project, I have used a lot of problem solving to figure out methods to improve the data collection process. So far, I have learned a lot in the lab and have developed problem-solving skills that will be valuable later in my career.

AltunaOutside of the lab, I am a musician. I have played in many places around the valley and have done some touring across the U.S. I also enjoy skiing, Ultimate Frisbee, video games, and hanging out.
