Fly Species (Ascodipteron n. sp) |
|
What is it? This is a species of fly. The adult female fly (shown here) burrows underneath the host’s skin and then loses it’s wings, and legs, basically becoming a large reproductive sac. This is a new species that we recently discovered in China. We also discovered another new species of fly similar to this one, but in a new genus that we are currently describing.
